A Visual Celebration of UNSW Alumni Awards 2023

To tell the awesome stories of eight alumni who are really crushing it out there. And when we say awesome, we mean everything from politicians and judges to groundbreaking scientists, playwrights, and CEOs. We used our trusty Sony FX6 Cinema cameras and some super cool vintage lenses to give each story a vibe of its own. And get this: we even dug up old-school footage from the UNSW archives—some of it going all the way back to 1971!

But it wasn’t just about the tech or even the locations (although filming in Perth on its only rainy day was something else!). What made this project truly special was the people. We got to know these incredible alumni and heard about their struggles, their triumphs, and the real-world impact they’re making. We aimed to create videos that make you feel something, whether you’re a current student, alumni, staff, or just someone who stumbled upon these stories. The goal was to not only show off UNSW’s world-class talent but also to share some good old inspiration. Honestly, we walked away from this project feeling pretty inspired ourselves!
